Bottom Curve Planter and Plate.
Handmade in Saline, Michigan by E.Lo Ceramic Art.
E.Lo Ceramic Art is design and creation of clean modern functional forms by artist Emily LoPresto. Emily has been working with clay for more than half her life, her current work is functional slip cast ceramic objects for every day use. With an emphasis on the process of mold making the work starts as lines and shapes in 3D modeling software. Emily uses modern technology as an aid in creating prototypes that are used to make plaster molds. Using colored porcelain each piece is cast in a mold and finished by hand. The functionally of the work is what drives the design and the idea of use is what drives the maker. Emily LoPresto graduated the College for Creative Studies with a major in Crafts, Ceramics and a minor in Jewelry Metals. She has a full functioning studio and is actively making ceramic work. It is her hope that people purchase her work and enjoy using it in everyday life as much as she does.
